I think that perseverance is an idea that transcends time and culture because other wise if we didn't get something right the first time then we would just give up and wouldn't try again. Most things don't happen right the first time but we use perseverance to push on and try again until we get it right. Pereverance is impotant because if you fail at something and don't try again then you will regret it later.
